David Mclay Kidd's signature oceanfront 18-hole course.
A challenge to players of all skill levels, Guacalito golf course seamlessly melds natural terrain while preserving the breathtaking environment that makes Nicaragua's emerald coast special.
Beautiful hardwood bridges made with fallen timber grace many holes. A specially treated-water irrigation system maintains the resort's commitment to sustainability. On the 18th hole, an unconventional par-3, was designed specifically to save mature trees instead of removing them.
"Nicaragua screams adventure to me, so I wanted to make sure the golf course lived up to that idea."
- David McLay Kidd, Golf Course Architect
Swinging away on the greens of the emerald coast is the promise of the Guacalito GolF Course. Named one of the "the best golf courses" by robb report, the inspired 10-hole oceanfront design hails from one of today's most innovative golf course designers-David Mclay Kidd, named the "hottest architect in golf" by golf world.
Beginning deep inside the forest and ending on the ocean's sandy shore, this challenge to players of every skill level stands as Nicaragua's Premier Course. Nearly as if mother nature were the co-architect, the course seamlessly follows (and helps to preserve) the natural contours of terrain and arroyos, with distinctively beautiful hardwood bridges made of fallen timber gracing many holes. Some players describe it as 'one part golf, one part nature trek', and that is prehaps its greatest appeal.
